Follow rules 3 and 4 and you shouldn't have too much trouble with any of this. Cripple his credit income to kill off his ability to produce reinforcements effectively. If attacking his main base simply isn't winning the game for you, then go for his economy. Focus fire on hard-to-kill or stubborn units. Know where his defenses are weakest and exploit it. When you send your attack force, be sure to have a decent amount of reinforcements handy to back up your army. Capture mining buildings/asteroids early to get an early economic lead on your opponent.ĥ.) Never back down. A strong economy allows for continuous production without interuption, whereas a weak economy forces the player to wait until he has enough credits to build with. Economy is the single biggest factor in the game. The Rebels can use the T2-B for early recon, given its special ability, but they can be pricey in the early parts of a battle.Ĥ.) Keep your economy strong. If you suspect early tech, try and take out the higher-tier structures early to deny him his more powerful units. This is where the Scout Trooper comes in handy. In a Land Skirmish, early recon is a definite must especially for the Empire. You may know where he is, but do you know what he is doing? If you find his base and only see starting units, it's very likely they are going for an early tech to more powerful units. Even the slightest researching can make considerable difference, especially for Mining Facilities (or Asteroid Mines for space).ģ.) Scout! For the sake of all thats around you, save yourself a thrashing and scout your opponent early. I've seen countless fights where certain upgraded units survived insurmountable odds, like a single group of upgraded TIE Scouts tearing up a group of non-upgraded X-Wings. Many noobs would think that researching upgrades is pointless, but humor me. You may end up being tied up dealing with your opponent and not realize that your station/tech upgrade has finished and therefore have no additional reinforcements in production.Ģ.) Research upgrades. Always have that production queue running. Whether it's a few cheap scouting units, a tech upgrade, or a station upgrade. It would take an eternity to produce a guide of that magnitude.ġ.) Always be building something. This guide, however, is NOT a Campaign walkthrough, sorry. Tips about Galactic Conquest will be in short near the end. Note: Most of this guide will be about Skirmish battles. They are just good principles to follow absent any compelling reason not to as you get better, you'll start recognizing when to deviate from certain rules. As a general caveat, there are exceptions to every rule, so I'm not claiming these are always the right thing to do. Just look at whichever sections are relevant to what you want to learn. The post is long but you don't need to read every part to get started. Here's a compilation of tips for beginners who are interested in learning basic principles behind Star Wars: Empire at War and Forces of Corruption.
